Hundreds of family, friends and fellow Soldiers packed the bleachers of at Cottrell field here, to witness as 84 "Spartan" Soldiers of the 2nd Armored Brigade Combat Team, 3rd Infantry Division, participated in a mass re-enlistment ceremony, Oct. 3. "To get this many Soldiers to raise their right hand and commit to the Army and this nation is just awesome," said Col. Scott A. Jackson, commander for 2nd ABCT, 3rd ID. "This is the first mass re-enlistment the brigade has done since I arrived here," said Master Sgt. Uraezmateo Jose, senior career counselor, for 2nd ABCT, 3rd ID. The ceremony also gave the Soldiers the opportunity to be re-enlisted by Jackson, the new brigade commander, and allow the onlookers to watch as the Soldiers recite the Oath of Re-enlistment to continue to selflessly serve in the U.S. Army.
