Veterans Day is a time to honor those brave men and women who
served our Nation so honorably in the past and those who proudly wear the
uniform today. It’s also a time to
remember that everyone who serves is a Soldier for life.
"We stand on the shoulders of giants!" Today's military
has much to be proud of, but no glory is earned without the lessons of history
informing our actions -- previous generations of veterans, from the volunteers
at Bunker Hill and the Continental Soldiers of Valley Forge, through to the
veterans of our modern actions in Iraq and Afghanistan, have shaped today's
military into the world's strongest force.
