The Heartland Chapters, Association of the United States Army announce the celebration of the 239th Birthday of the United States Army. This year’s event will be held at the Westin Crown Center, 1 Pershing Road at Grand, Kansas City, Missouri, on Saturday evening, five-thirty o’clock in the evening, June 14, 2014.
Our guest speaker is Lieutenant General Robert B. Brown, Commanding General, United States Army Combined Arms Center and Fort Leavenworth.
We anticipate a full house so you are encouraged to reserve seating as soon as possible; we will take your reservation now. We encourage organizing tables/; we are seating tables of ten.
You may give this advance notice widest distribution. All are welcome.
The celebration begins with cocktails outside the Main Ballroom. Following cocktails, guests are summoned to dinner by bugle call to enjoy an exceptional meal and the grand tradition and ceremony of a military event. The program will fill the evening with tradition, honors to our fallen and missing, Spouses of deployed Soldiers, Gold Star Families, music, videos, guest speaker, door prizes, and an opportunity to dance into the night.
Rooms will be available at the Westin Crown Center at a special rate if you choose to remain overnight. Contact the Westin directly for reservations at 816-474-4400.
The price for this event is $65 per guest ($35 for Staff Sergeant or more junior and Cadets). This is well below our cost. This event is open to the public and is not a fund raising event.
Dress is Mess/Dress Blues, tuxedo or equivalent. A dark business suit is acceptable.
